While we were State-side for Christmas we visited Gloucester - and saw our first home together still standing. Our wonderful church had let us stay in the apartment in the Parish House (diff. from the parsonage) right next door to the church. This was great for many reasons and we will be forever so thankful for that. Right at the time when we were leaving, the church had raised enough money to begin the first phase of it's building project - meaning, tearing down the Parish House and then putting up a more useful building. However, slashing through the red tape takes time, and it wasn't until after our visit that it was torn down. Thanks to Barb for sending pictures of the tear-down process, we were sad and excited at the same time - the church really needs the new building!!This is the church we went to in Gloucester - and were married in. We still love it and miss it like crazy - the people of course!! (although the building is cute too)
I took this peeking through a non-existent window over New Year's. How weird. So many memorable things happened in this room: parties, great meals, tons of laughing, some crying, amazing conversations, prayers, birthdays, jr. high girls' breakfast, the meal where we actually served our guests frozen pizza, our wedding flowers were set up in here before the wedding, and so on. This made me feel a bit sad as this room really was the center of our old home.
And these are the shots of the whole building being torn down. We only occupied a third of this building, the far left, seen better in the last pictures. The rest was full of classrooms.

Look, and here goes the office where Stefan wrote so many papers!
See the stairway? We tromped up and down that so many times every day to our bedroom and office. I remember being so proud of myself when I was sick with pneumonia and made it down to get to the bathroom, such an accomplishment! It doesn't look like much here, does it?
I figure Zack is standing where our old living room was, but now it's all gone. Ready for a new building, with a good kitchen and lots of space for the kids to tear around!
