Stefan has this week off as well - a nice 2 week Easter school break! We're using this second to spruce up the house. One of the projects we needed done was to create some sort of storage cabinet for our TV. We use the TV maybe once every 2-3 weeks to watch a DVD, but that's about it. So Stefan took advantage of the sunny weather and still empty back balcony to build something. It's nothing terribly fancy, but it nicely takes care of the where-to-stash-the-TV problem. Our couch faces our big sliding glass doors and castle view and we wanted to keep enjoying the nice view. Before we had the TV on it's little rolling cart in front of the glass doors and the tech stuff looking crass.
After: We call it the TV Garage. Stefan's also built in a shelf to hold all our routers, wires, cables, and other tech stuff. Stefan's annoyed at how one of the doors is crooked, but the guy back at the hardware store cut the plank that way and we didn't realize this until after we'd come home, so we had to work with it. I'm so proud of Stefan's ability to be handy enough to do this sort of thing, and quickly too!
Over time I'll come up with some way to make it look less like a pine box and more like a piece of furniture, but we have other projects to work on first....namely the coming of spring and the state of our balconies!

Nice TV garage....Excellent carpentry! What a great skill to have in the house. Naughty (sic) pine boxes have many uses (!) and can be stained, sealed or painted to meet your changing needs. I think this piece of German engineering will be around for some time to come.
