Orange Juice

So I spent a large portion of my afternoon writing words like orange juice, comics, skates, newspaper, phone card, and crisps. Stefan needs them for a lesson he's teaching on Wednesday and they had to look perfect. I got stuck writing orange juice - honestly, how hard is it? It's only hard when you try, apparently. And don't you think the word ORANGE is so weird? Try writing it out a few times and you'll see what I mean. Where did this word even come from?? For some online etymology, click here.

***** Please pray for Stefan, especially for his lesson on Wednesday morning! *****

Stefan has been preparing all weekend, and most of last week, for his Wednesday lesson. He's had to write up a 10 page lesson plan, footnoted and with a didactical analysis. His principal will be writing up a big report based on his classroom observations. This is for his Beamte-stunde - which is when it's decided if he'll receive tenure at the school. So he's really stressed out. And he's fighting a dreadful cold with a horrendous sore throat that just hit him on Sunday morning.

We're pushing through to Wednesday. Please pray for his health, preparation and delivery of the lesson, student behavior and cooperation, and peace of mind.

If you find yourself asking "tenureship - in a public school?" - yes, that's what they do here. Unless Stefan were to try to kill a kid or something, he wouldn't be able to get fired from his job. Germans heart job security. Stefan's just going through the motions for now.
