Indy

I grew up watching all the Indiana Jones movies, so of course I had to see the new one when it came out. Last night they even had a showing in English on it's opening night! So 7 of us went to the english showing......at 11pm! We were dragging ourselves into bed at 1:30am....zzzzzzz

Overall - it's a 2-thumbs up for the 4th Indy flick! I think 'Lost Ark' and 'Last Crusade' were the best, but this new one's a fun romp as usual. The crystal skull is a little kooky, but the whole thing is filmed in a light-hearted spirit - playing off old-Hollywood chase scenes, Indy's hat, etc. If you watch it as a movie where everybody's just out to have fun, literally even the directors, then you'll enjoy it.

Honestly, this iconic film character started me on a long-standing dream to do archeology myself. However, after a few days of brushing away dirt in the heat finding only shards of oil lamps, sketching hundreds of finds in the Israel Museum and Rockefeller Museum, and dozing through weeks of archaeological slide shows.....yep, that did me in. Thank goodness I did lots of other things during my four months in Israel back in '98!

In INDIANA USA the Hoosier thing is to see all the movies the first week they are released, especially INDIANA Jones movies. The next Hosier habit is to buy the DVD the day it comes out, and watch it at least five times in your home 140 cm wide theater screen TV. We are trying to break that perception, but will follow your recommendation and join the lemmings (per the easily influenced and seldom replicated, Momo).
