Farewells

We seem to constantly be saying goodbye, and most of the time it still has a surreal twinge to it - as though we're just going on a trip or vacation and will return soon. The fact that it will be a long time before we see many of our friends here again has yet to really sink in.

Last night Stefan and I had a great time on our 'mystery night' with the youth in the church. We literally had no idea what we'd be doing as our caravan of cars cruised down the highway. We ended up having a great time at a North Shore Spirit game - a minor league baseball team. The team won, we all stomped and cheered to the songs - and when our group and special message was announced - in general we all had a blast! It was also Stefan's first-ever baseball game, so that was an added cool factor for him! We returned to the church after the game and enjoyed ice cream sundaes and a stack of thoughtful cards and letters from the kids. It was perfect - I can't believe they were planning this for over a month and I never found out a single detail!! Many thanks to Pete and the rest of the crew!

Today we have more goodbyes and our bed and other large furniture will be picked up by those who have purchased them. We'll be spending our last night here in the USA at a friend's house since the house will be totally empty today!
