Stefan just started 2 weeks of fall vacation. Friday night we kicked things off with dinner out in the Oberstadt. We tried a place we'd been to several years ago, but had forgotten - a little wine cellar - and it's now on our short list of favorite places! It's super cozy inside:
We enjoyed my favorite German recipe, Kürbiskremesuppe (pumpkin cream soup). This shows up everywhere in the fall and usually comes with a drizzle of pumpkin seed oil and a sprinkling of toasted pumpkin seeds. Sunday's community lunch at church also featured this soup, much to my delight!
This little place also specialized in flammkuchen - a kind of German/French thin pizza. I tried a little one with local goat cheeses and Stefan went for the fall special: pumpkin, cheeses, pumpkin seeds, and bacon. He also had a little glass of Federweiße, another fall speciality: fizzy, light, sweet, white wine.

Herbst Ferien or Fall Break
I need to find a good recipe for Kürbiskremesuppe - it's so delicious!

Hey, what place is this?
it's called Weinladle I think, on the hill above the Markt going up towards the Physics buildings. It has a little white fence around it's outdoor eating area. You should definitely check it out!
